We disciples who live here in Salem (though not the old world Salem) see God's tent pegs firmly in place here! God's vast works are evident in the beauty of Oregon and the abundance of recreational opportunities. We are a group of 9 disciples, with 6 baptized in the past 2-3 years. Salem has untapped colleges (Willamette, Corban, Chemeketa, Western Oregon) and is the state capitol for possible government employment. We are within an hour of larger congregations in Portland and Eugene, and two hours from Bend. Eugene oversees our organic planting (Kelly and Cheryl Boyd) and can help provide on-the-job training. My wife Kerry and I (Aaron Ford) have been disciples for 20+ years and will provide friendship and mentorship. I have a master's in Biblical study to assist you in your spiritual growth. What we need are zealous young people to connect with Salem's future disciples

Please provide a brief description of your ministry program. What exactly will you have volunteers do, and how will you disciple and train them?

 

We are seeking volunteers (possibly paid) who will:
1. Be active in sharing their faith (10+ hours per week)
2. Study the Bible with those who attend functions
3. Coordinate events designed to attract college-age people
4. Maintain a strong personal spiritual life
5. Participate in speaking/sharing at worship services
6. Enhance our web/social media presence
7. Potentially mentor youth ministry

We will have consistent/weekly meeting times with our volunteers with the goal of their personal spiritual growth. We will coordinate opportunities for them to get time with nearby paid ICOC ministers.
